Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Screen Motion ("we", "us") for your use of the Screen Motion app for Mac and the website screenmotion.app. By downloading, subscribing to or using Screen Motion, you agree to them.

The app and your licence

While your subscription is active, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Screen Motion on Macs that you own or control. You may not resell, rent or sublicense the app, remove its licensing, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.

Your recordings

Everything you record and export with Screen Motion is yours. We claim no rights over it. You are responsible for what you record, including having the right to capture and share any content, people or software that appear in it.

Subscriptions and billing

• Screen Motion is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription. Prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, where any taxes are added.
• Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record for all orders. Lemon Squeezy handles payments, invoices and returns.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt or from the customer portal, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
• If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you before your next renewal, and the change applies from that renewal.

Refunds are described in our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use Screen Motion to break the law, to record people without the consent the law requires, or to infringe anyone else's rights.

Updates and availability

We improve Screen Motion regularly, and features may be added, changed or removed. The app depends on macOS, and some features need a particular Mac or version of macOS.

Warranty and liability

Screen Motion is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost recordings, data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have by law and that cannot be excluded.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Screen Motion at any time. We may suspend or end a licence if these terms are seriously broken. When a subscription ends, the app's paid features stop working, and the recordings and exports on your Mac remain yours.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Screen Motion after that means you accept the updated terms.
