Screen Motion is a screen recorder and editor for Mac. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the app and this website, screenmotion.app.

The short version

• Your recordings stay on your Mac. We do not receive your screen recordings, camera footage, audio, captions or projects.
• Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your card details.
• We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

What the app processes on your Mac

Screen Motion asks macOS for permission to record your screen and, if you choose, your camera and microphone. It also records the position of your pointer and the keys you press during a recording, so it can draw the cursor, zooms and shortcuts in your video. All of this is saved in the project on your Mac, by default in your Movies folder, and is not sent to us.

Captions are produced with Apple's speech recognition. For languages that Apple supports on-device, the audio does not leave your Mac. Camera effects such as face tracking and background removal, voice cleanup, rendering and export all run locally.

What we receive

• Purchase and subscription details. When you subscribe, our payment provider Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details, and shares with us your name, email, the plan you bought and the status of your subscription. Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record and handles this information under its own privacy policy.
• Licence checks. The app contacts our licensing service to confirm that a subscription is active. This sends your licence key and an identifier for the installation, and nothing about what you record.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
• Website logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

We use this information to provide the app, activate your subscription, send receipts and service messages, answer support requests, and meet our legal and tax obligations. We do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the providers that help us run Screen Motion: Lemon Squeezy for payments and subscriptions, our website host, and our email provider. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and support conversations for as long as they are useful for helping you. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these, write to support@screenmotion.app.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. For a significant change we will also tell subscribers by email.
